Year-end Summary | The Tug of 2022

Preface#

The summary for this year started in mid-December because I was lazy (

Another year has passed without us realizing it. This year, which is the third year entangled with the epidemic, witnessed/experienced two rounds of large-scale epidemics in Shanghai and Hainan, as well as the complete lifting of restrictions and the disappearance of travel codes. At this point, no one knows how long we will continue to struggle with the virus until it comes to an end.

Despite the struggles, life goes on. At the end of this year, just like last year, let's look back at what happened in 2022 that was relevant to me.

During the process of filling in the gaps, the overall outline went from three main points to two main points, and finally to writing smaller points in a unified manner, which is similar to last year.

Academic#

Should I say it's a red light or a yellow light now?

In the first year, I failed in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, and it was really tough. Among them, two courses in advanced mathematics were the most difficult, and I ended up retaking them, contributing a lot to the school's treasury.

In the second half of the year, I had to undergo a 7-day quarantine at school. After the quarantine, I only attended two days of offline classes before switching back to online classes. Just as my dad complained, these offline classes are really expensive.

And the courses for this semester were delayed until the next semester for exams. Moreover, four out of six courses fall under the category of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, plus three courses that need to be retaken. It's hard not to make my blood pressure rise.

How should I put it? Should I aim to pass all the courses with no failures in the new year? Or should I not make any hasty promises, fearing that I might be proven wrong in no time.

Organization#

After joining the Science and Technology Association based on my technical skills last year, I successfully became the minister in charge of the website department after it merged with the Publicity and Promotion Department this year. At the same time, as the technical personnel of the new website, I briefly explained to the department members the websites that college students might use and the content related to website construction (although we only had three face-to-face classes due to the epidemic).

Overall, I think it's great that my expertise can be put to good use. The task for the next year is to do my job well in the second half of my term and find a successor to continue managing the website for the Science and Technology Association. Then, I can take a break (

Other#

In the middle of this year, due to the severe epidemic situation in Hainan, my family asked me to volunteer for about a week in community epidemic prevention and control, entering information for people undergoing nucleic acid testing. It was there that I experienced what it feels like to wear protective clothing. Even sitting in a greenhouse with a fan, it was still stuffy. In addition, my allergic rhinitis made it difficult for me to adapt to being fully armed, but I managed to get through it and give myself a thumbs up.

Volunteer Certificate

Speaking of community matters, since April this year, I have been actively contributing to the Mx-Space documentation, finding issues and submitting pull requests. I also learned and made improvements through this process. Among them, I made the most pull requests for Mx-Space's documentation (mx-space/docs) this year. I would like to thank all the great contributors at Mx-Space for their support.

About Games#

Let's talk about games first. The main games I played this year were Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd (although I didn't grind commissions much), as well as rhythm games.

The first two games were mainly focused on the storyline. But as I'm writing this, I haven't even finished the interlude storyline in Genshin Impact yet (because I'm too lazy to grind commissions). Let's start with Honkai Impact 3rd. I followed the storyline for a year and understood the main theme of "healthy, positive, and proactive." From watching Otto charge at the giant tree at the beginning of the year to the story where you were present in the middle of the year, and then to the final battle of the main characters. Everyone hopes that this story will have a perfect happy ending. I wonder if we will witness it next year.

Next is Genshin Impact. At the beginning of the year, I watched the Archon Quests and witnessed the emergence of the Divine Priestess. Then, with the development in Liyue, we arrived at the Abyss. From the endless cycle to the development of the desert area in the middle, to the climax of the main characters' collective resistance against the Fatui, and witnessing the "world forgetting me" of the Great Tree King (Isn't it great that the storyline has fewer knives?). The gameplay of the game itself is also constantly expanding, especially the card game, which brought back games I hadn't played in a long time (although I still didn't do many commissions). It's wonderful.

As for rhythm games, to sum it up in one sentence, I played them while being a lazy fish. Due to other busy matters, I only played rhythm games when I had spare time. But even so, after a year of practice, my Rks (a value that evaluates player skill level) in Phigros increased from 7.04 to the current 12.75 (the theoretical highest value is 16.12), and the potential value in Arcaea increased from 6.16 to 10.00 (the theoretical highest value is 13.05). The progress may not be significant, but it feels steady. Besides, I also got into some interesting new rhythm games this year. Maybe we'll see some results next year? (Maybe not)

In addition to the above, I also bought some interesting indie games on Steam, most of which are short puzzle games. They are fun, but unfortunately, I only finished a few of them. I will probably continue to consider buying more games like these next year (mainly for the thrill).

About Music#

Just like last year, I used data from Netease Cloud Music for statistics. Unfortunately, there is no one-picture summary in this year's report (

Song of the Year: Bobbish - HOYO-MiX

Artist of the Year: Nyarons

Genre of the Year: Game Music (Mihoyo, you're really something)

Spirit of the Year: 83% Radiance, 13% Brilliance, 4% Vitality

To be honest, before I clicked on it, I thought it would be TruE, but this traditional tune from Honkai Impact 3rd inexplicably topped the charts 36 times, which is amazing (

The Spirit of the Year (can I consider it a keyword?) "Radiance" matches well with my playlist for the year. Several songs out of the top ten are related to this keyword, especially TruE, PUPA, and Particle Arts.

About Videos#

Just like last year, I only counted data from Bilibili, and because some classmates share the same account with me, the data only represents a part of it.

Now that I'm in college, I can watch Bilibili every day. Being present for 365 days is considered normal (

DNA of the Year: Mihoyo, Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Rhythm Games, Comedy, Silly Esports, Medicine, League of Legends (The crossed-out ones are probably watched by others using my account (I'm sure))

Most Watched Videos: Apart from 005's "Testify," I don't recognize the other two medical videos (

Most Followed UP: The first idol of Honkai Impact 3rd, Ai Sauce (

Health#

(Written on December 31) Today is the last day of the year, and unfortunately, I didn't make it through the Omi Kekkai Rong group stage. Now, all I can do is wish those who made it through the group stage can hold on until the finals. I also hope that those who tested positive without symptoms and those with symptoms will not have any major problems and recover soon.

For Next Year#

To be honest, I dare not make any promises to myself, as mentioned above. I can only hope to stay healthy and make sure I don't fail any more courses. That's it.

Lastly, I wish everyone who has read this far a happy New Year.
